Tex Vet The Mission of TexVet is twofold: we support Texas military, veterans and family members by providing equal access to information and referral services from federal, state, and local Veteran Service Organizations (VSO). We also serve as the hub for the statewide peer to peer counseling network and volunteers (find the MVPN on my Wellness-related page). Through this network and event-based activities, TexVet has initiated a "No Wrong Door" policy for the veteran community. Check us out at www.texvet.org
Operation Military Embrace Remembering Vietnam, “OME” is dedicated to ensuring that OIF (Iraq) and OEF (Afghanistan) veterans and all who served during this period of war are not treated with hostility and disrespect as were those who served with honor and distinction in Vietnam.  Operation Military Embrace, a Christ-centered 501 (c) (3) military- support charity, achieves this objective through the grace of God by working to increase public awareness regarding the challenges faced by America's military & their families while providing financial assistance, direct support via the nation's only free PX (Post Exchange) , and motivational activities & programs for seriously wounded, ill or injured service members & their families across all of America's combat arms for up to 10 years after EAS/discharge. OME has engaged in many events in the Texas Hill Country and has included Hill Country veterans in many of our past programs. Check us out at www.operationmilitaryembrace.com

Operation Comfort
Operation Comfort is a 501 C-3 nonprofit organization formed in 2004 to support combat wounded, ill or injured, active duty and retired Service Members coming from Iraq and Afghanistan and who are recovering at Brooke Army Medical Center, Audie Murphy VA Hospital, and surrounding VA facilities.  We provide rehabilitative therapeutic programs, including sled hockey, adaptive cycling, swimming, adaptive surfing, Automotivation and woodworking.  Our Automotivation program provides an opportunity for veterans to work on cars and to learn new skills.  Operation Comfort also considers applications for family financial assistance for those who served in OEF, OIF, or OND. Finally, because we understand things change when a Service Member has been wounded, we offer Ladies’ respite outings. For more information please visit www.operationcomfort.org or call our office at 210-826-0500.

San Antonio Coalition for Veterans San Antonio Coalition for Veterans is a nonprofit agency committed to helping solve problems for Veterans from all generations. We provide assistance to individuals, Veteran groups and advocacy through our over 500+ Veteran Service Providers. Check us out at www.sacv.org.  A source (who’s pretty darn sharp) told me she’s gone to SACV’s meetings and “not come away disappointed.” Four big buttons on their site keep it easy. Click on “Resources” for pages of organizations that are designed to help Veterans. These pages list their names, who they help, what with, and contact info. Hill Country Veterans’ Network
The Link-Up’s mission is to empower Veterans, Wounded Warriors and Warriors in Transition with self-reliance to choose and enjoy the outdoor sport of their interest. Our Vision: To create a network that links veterans wounded in action or while serving our country with volunteers through an online community. That all Wounded Warriors become self-sufficient to enjoy hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. To build on the camaraderie that military service members enjoy by creating a ‘net’ for wounded veterans to connect with other patriotic persons: retired, former military, active/reserve military, or the dedicated citizen. To build outdoor partnerships between donors and veterans. Please check us out at www.thelink-up.org
Patriots and Heroes Outdoors provides opportunities for hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreational activities with a primary focus on military with service-related injuries and their families. We network with others to help accommodate the needs of service families, and offer educational and emotional support. We will also assist patriotic individuals, small groups, or landowners who want to host an event or outdoor activity. We have conducted outdoor activities in the Texas Hill Country and have included Hill Country veterans in our past programs. See us at www.patriotsandheroesoutdoors.com
